I have been wanting to do a brunch at East End Bistrot in Raleigh for quite sometime, as chef William D'Auvray is absolutely exceptional. And hospitality commands that two customers from New Bern, who come to the Parizade dinner on Dec 20, would not be let get on the road before a proper brunch.
So here we have it, a superb brunch, which gives an opportunity to taste side by side, 2 exceptional bubblies: a Crémant de Bordeaux that is becoming more and more popular here in NC and one of the best Champagne you will ever have, I can guarantee it. This is a small affair, so reserve your seat right away.

For the first time I think, you will be able to taste side by side, a topissim Champagne, and this Crémant de Bordeaux which is also a star in its category. This Crémant is a very distinctive wine, which unlike other Crémants, does not try to rival Champagne. It has its own style, and few would confuse it with Champagne. It is fuller than any Champagne I have ever tasted, certainly yeasty, for the best, with savors of toasted biscottis, and notes of pear. It goes very well with cheese and seafood.
Champagne also goes very well with seafood, in fact, it goes well with almost anything. This champagne, thanks to its pedigree, as well as the savoir faire of its creator, an oenologist from Champagne with his own family plots, combines the aerial lightness of a Blanc de Blanc, with the relative richness of a Pinot Champagne, thereby combining the best of both words. It is down right exquisite, this is in my experience, Champagne at its best.
We will have these two wines, side by side throughout the brunch.
WILLIAM"S CLAFOUTIS William's childhood favorite. Crêpe meets pancake in this French classic served with plum and cherries
I look forward to your company for this delightful way to wake up.
